EDMONTON - The trip is a daunting one, the longest of the season.

And having lost three of their first four games, the Edmonton Oilers head out on the road already in a hole.

“It’ll be interesting to see how we do on the road, especially on an extended trip,” said Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins. “I think it’s always good to get away early, just for your team to get to know each other a little bit better. The start of the season is always a hectic time trying to get your family settled and all that stuff.

“I think it’s a good time for us to get on the road, but this is not going to be any cakewalk either. This is going to be a tough road trip and we’re going to be playing some heavy teams, some big teams and some teams that also have some firepower. This will be a large test for this group.”
