Taylor Hall knows you can’t keep blaming the coach.

Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the players.

So heading into a summer of uncertainty as the housecleaning began with the firing of Ralph Kruger and subsequent hiring of Dallas Eakins, the Edmonton Oilers winger is aware his generation is expected to drag the team out from the mess.

“We’re all excited for Dallas, I watched his press conference, I like his philosophy and I liked a lot of things that he said,” Hall said. “It’s going to be a change for all of us, but we’re hockey players, we have to be used to that.

“For sure, we feel responsible for what happened to Ralph. When Tom (Renney) was let go, we felt that it was our responsibility and now with Ralph, it’s definitely our responsibility. We were there this year for a short amount of time and we didn’t get it done for him. I’m sure if we did, we’d be in a different spot right now.”
