EDMONTON - Despite winning the rookie scoring title, Edmonton Oilers Nail Yakupov has been snubbed in the league's award nominations for rookie of the year.

The winger was named the NHL's rookie of the month for April, along with being named the league's third star of the week.

Yakupov, 19, closed out the year by scoring a hat-trick in the Oilers 7-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

The three goals gave the Russian product the NHL rookie scoring title, finishing with 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 points on the season. That was good for 75th overall in the league.
