If Steve Tambellini was still here with his lucky tie, Seth Jones might be playing with the Edmonton Oilers next year.

New general manager Craig MacTavish didn’t make it a fourth straight year for the Oilers picking first at the draft.

Picking No. 1 will be 29th place Colorado Avalanche with the Oilers selecting seventh.

And MacTavish offered a very broad hint that the Oilers will quite likely be trading that pick when he held his first ever year-end press conference Monday morning.
