EDMONTON - It’s how you leave ’em?
If that show biz expression is true then the Edmonton Oilers left ’em loving it.
Which, considering the season, is sort of laughable.
A 6-1 win Friday night in Minnesota, where they never win. And a 7-2 win at home against a less-than-reasonable-facsimile of the Vancouver Canucks on Hockey Night In Canada Saturday.
After two wins in their previous 11 games — none of them at home — who could see that coming?
At least, in their last home game, they didn’t get booed out of the building like they had been twice earlier this month.
Instead the fans were on their feet in the final minute and the Oilers were able to end the game and raise their sticks to their fans and end their season with smiles.
“We threw our stick in the crowd and they didn’t throw them back, so I guess that’s a good sign,” said captain Shawn Horcoff.
