At least one Edmonton Oiler was giving it his 'Hall'

Somewhere in the pile of poop that is now officially the Edmonton Oilers’ league leading seventh straight season out of the playoffs, there had to be a pony.

There is.

Actually, it’s a horse.

It was only one minute into Sunday’s first game of a doubleheader against the Anaheim Ducks when Taylor Hall whistled a shot from the faceoff circle past Jonas Hiller to accomplish a feat which hasn’t happened here since the 2000-01 season.

Even if Hall fails to get a point in the remaining four games of the regular season, he’ll have become the first Oiler since Doug Weight a dozen seasons ago to lead the team in scoring as a point-per-game player.

Maybe you’d have to give him an asterisk on a lockout- shortened 48 game schedule in which he’ll end up playing 45 of those games.

But last night when he scored his 15th goal of the season in game 41 for him, it provided him with his 45th point.
