Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ summer could be worse than his winter, which is saying a lot given how the Edmonton Oilers will finish this season.

The 19-year-old is done for the year with a torn labrum in his shoulder and could be under the knife as early as Tuesday.

“It’s something that doesn’t fix itself, it’s something that has to be taken care of,” said Nugent-Hopkins, before leaving for Cleveland to meet with the surgeon who operated on Taylor Hall last April.
