EDMONTON - Some would consider it spinning their tires.

The Edmonton Oilers are calling it a fresh start.

Four years to the day Steve Tambellini fired Craig MacTavish, the former Oilers head coach is replacing the team's current general manager.

On Monday, the Oilers announced they had fired Tambellini, to be replaced by MacTavish, who had been brought back by the club this off-season to be an assistant to president of hockey operations, Kevin Lowe.
