The Edmonton Oilers were a pretty dejected bunch after dropping a 2-1 decision to the Anaheim Ducks Monday.

The next morning, they were trying to pick their heads up, knowing the playoff race is not over, although they do have a lot of ground to make up.

“We need points and obviously with losing a couple before this game, the next games become more important,” said Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk. “We don’t want to fall out of this thing. Unfortunately if we keep dropping games, that’s going to be the case.

“It was disappointing (Monday) night. We got the goal and we were right back in it. That’s what we talked about after the second period, that we were just one shot away and we were close and unfortunately, it ended up being a similar play as the first goal that ended up in the net.”
