Edmonton Oilers say they've discovered the formula for consistency
By TERRY JONES, QMI Agency

Shawn Horcoff says it was after players meeting before the final Chicago game that the team's identity started to take shape. (Codie McLachlan, Edmonton Sun)

The trouble with four-game unbeaten streaks in a compact 48-game lockout-shortened season is that you’re never sure if what you’re watching might be a mirage.

Especially when you are as thirsty as Edmonton and the Oilers happen to be for success, crawling out of Death Valley Days and the Great Depression of 2010-11-12.

If this isn’t a mirage, it’s significant. Perhaps even momentous.

What we’re dealing with here are a few members of the Oilers being of the belief they’ve made the most important discovery there is to make on an emerging NHL entity.

“Our identity,” volunteered Jordan Eberle.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
