Oilers vets and coaches agree: need to get more shots, more bodies in front
By TERRY JONES, QMI Agency

Ryan Jones, expected to start against the Colorado Avalanche Saturday, says he's excited to get back in the play and battle for the puck. (Perry Mah, Edmonton Sun)

EDMONTON - It's basically about getting grit.

You can have all the fancy skaters in the world, but until they get some grit, you're not going to do spit.

And the Edmonton Oilers just proved it by losing back-to-back games in regulation for the first time this year, including one Thursday night to a Minnesota Wild team that hadn’t won a game in regulation all year.

Getting true grit into their top-six game is the name of the game until further notice.

  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
