Schultz, Petry suit up for Edmonton Oilers

Earlier this week it appeared as though the Edmonton Oilers might be down a couple of defencemen heading into Saturday’s contest against the Colorado Avalanche.

Rookie Justin Schultz was kept off the ice for a few days with a sore back, while Jeff Petry took a spill forcing him to leave a practice early.

However, the pair were back on the ice against the Avalanche, neither looking any worse for wear.

“It feels good, I had a couple of good days of treatment making sure it was ready to go,” said Schultz before the game. “It was one of those things where you’re playing a lot of games and it was a little sore, but it was nothing serious.”

Coming out of the University of Wisconsin, Schultz has already played the equivalent of a college season between his time in Oklahoma City during the lockout and with the Oilers.

Regardless, outside of some soreness, the talented defenceman has yet to feel any fatigue.
