EDMONTON - Ryan Whitney will be experiencing something new Monday as a healthy scratch.

The Edmonton Oilers defenceman had never been omitted from a lineup when healthy in his NHL career, but will be watching the game against the Vancouver Canucks from the press box.

Whitney will be replaced by Corey Potter on the Oilers blue line, a decision he did not take kindly to when informed by head coach Ralph Krueger.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
