Three consecutive first overall picks behind him, Edmonton Oilers head scout Stu MacGregor back to finding diamonds in the rough
By TERRY JONES, QMI Agency

Stu MacGregor poses with Oilers GM Steve Tambellini and first overall pick Nail Yakupov at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft last spring. With the run of first overall picks a thing of the past, he's back to trying to find the next Jordan Eberle, selected 22nd overall in 2008. (ANDRE FORGET/QMI Agency)

EDMONTON - Anybody can pick Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Nail Yakupov first overall at the NHL Entry Draft.

The trick is to pick a Jordan Eberle No. 22.

(And a Teemu Hartikainen No. 163.)

That's where Stu MacGregor came in as head scout of the Edmonton Oilers in 2008. That was his first draft.

And that's back as the theme for the dream this year.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
