Oilers' Hemsky has shoulder surgery

Edmonton - The Edmonton Oilers announced on Tuesday that forward Ales Hemsky underwent successful surgery to repair damage to his shoulder.

According to several reports, including the Edmonton Journal, Hemsky has played most of the season with a torn labrum. He is expected to be fully healed in 4-to-6 months.

The 27-year-old finished the year with 14 goals and 42 points in just 47 games.
