Bad word burns Oilers coach

If you didn’t hear it, even the most amateur of lip readers could tell the wash-your-mouth-out-with-soap bad word that Edmonton Oilers coach Tom Renney used on a referee Thursday.
Everybody watching the game on television couldn’t miss the Oilers coach’s out-of character moment.
“My daughters do read lips,” he said Friday.
“It’s not always good when you’re mic’ed. Even that five-second pause doesn’t help you sometimes.
“I remember my mom phoning me one time and saying, ‘Tommy … you used that F word …’ ”
Well, Mrs Renney, Tommy used it again.
