Oilers bring Gerber back up
By Sports Network

EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers have recalled veteran goaltender Martin Gerber from Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.

Gerber was called up in mid-November on an emergency basis, and won both of his starts filling in for the injured Nikolai Khabibulin, who has struggled to a 10-26-2 record this season.

The 36-year-old Gerber has gone 19-12-3 with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage for Oklahoma City this season.

After spending the 2009-10 season in the Kontinental Hockey League, Gerber signed with the Oilers last August. The Swiss netminder has played in 228 NHL games and compiled a 112-78-7-14 record with a 2.64 GAA and .910 save percentage.
