Oilers recall Gerber from AHL

Edmonton - The Edmonton Oilers on Thursday recalled veteran goaltender Martin Gerber from Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.

Gerber has won his last seven starts for the Barons and ranks second in the AHL with nine wins. He has posted a 2.56 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 13 games overall.

Edmonton signed Gerber on August 6 after the 36-year-old played for Atlant Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League last season. He has 110 career NHL wins with a 2.65 GAA and .910 save percentage.

Gerber was a member of the Carolina Hurricanes' Stanley Cup-winning team in 2006.

Oilers starting netminder Nikolai Khabibulin has allowed a league-high 56 goals this season.
