Andrew Cogliano had his best game of the season in a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
The Oilers centre picked up a pair of assists, creating the turnover that led to the team’s first goal and setting up Brule for the third.
Cogliano is looking to build on his performance against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
“I just think that I’ve been playing that kind of game for the last three or four games, for sure, and it kind of came together for me in the last game with a couple of assists,” he said. “I feel like my game is coming together, I have some good linemates with Penner and Brule and I’m just hoping to carry that over to next game.”
Cogliano has a goal and three assists on the season. Three of those points have come in the last two games.
“I’ve been having some good conversations with Tom Renney,” Cogliano said. “He’s been telling me to be competitive at both ends of the rink, be physical, use my speed to my advantage, play with the puck and making plays. He wants me to add a physical element to my game for sure, not only on the defensive end, but on the forecheck.”
