O'Sullivan will tough it out
Forward plans to play through painful fingernail injury
By ROBERT TYCHKOWSKY, QMI Agency

Patrick O’Sullivan, who basically had the fingernail busted out of his finger by a slash, is practising and is as ready as he’s ever going to be.

They’ve shoved a flat metal splint up his finger to the knuckle (similar to the bamboo shoots up the fingernail torture) to provide stability and hopefully regenerate the nail.

Other than that everything is fine.

“I’m going to be in pain, but I got it cleared by a doctor,” he said. “It’s up to the coaches at this point. With 10 games left I might as well play. Either I play or I might as well just sit out the rest of the year. So I’m just trying to play.”

Quinn hasn’t decided if O’Sullivan is in or not.

“I don’t know at this point who to necessarily take out. Based on the last game nobody deserves to come out. It’s not for certain that Pat is coming in at this point.”

He said it ...

“You never ask that (fighting) out of him, but if you’ve got that little pepper pot on the other side mouthing off, you might as well fill him in.”
