Pat Quinn stopped practice for a quick scolding yesterday. He’s trying to install a new system, with limited time, and needs everybody dialed in from the start.

“If you have a group that didn’t pay attention to what you’re trying to do, then you need to be reminded,” said Quinn.

“This is early I don’t want bad habits coming in already. The weakness of this team last year was we didn’t get the puck back, and the reason we didn’t get the puck back is because they weren’t in the right spots to do it.

"You set up a drill to get a guy in the right spot and they don’t do it right off the bat, you have to remind them. ‘Wait a minute, boys, stupid people repeat mistakes, so let’s not repeat them.’”

DAY TWO... It appears Patrick O’Sullivan will get the first look on the left side with Shawn Horcoff and Ales Hemsky. He was there for the first two days of camp and the line looked very good in yesterday’s scrimmage, scoring three goals... Defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky, who had shoulder surgery in the off-season, doesn’t have the range of motion the training staff was hoping to see and will take it slowly for a while. He didn’t skate yesterday... The team visits Calgary for the pre-season opener tonight.
