Fine-tuning Oilers lineup
By SUN MEDIA STAFF

For the Edmonton Oilers, it was a case of making an offer, or letting them go.

Yesterday the Oilers announced they had sent qualifying offers to nine restricted free agents, while five players we cut loose.

Gilbert Brule, Devan Dubnyk, Denis Grebeshkov, Colin McDonald, Ryan Potulny, Liam Reddox, Rob Schremp, Ladislav Smid and Ryan Stone were sent qualifying offers, meaning the Oilers retain their rights.

Sebastien Bisaillon, Stephane Goulet, David Rohlfs, Tyler Spurgeon and Bryan Young were not given offers, making them free agents, allowing them to go on and sign with any other team.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
