Fernando Pisani was on the ice yesterday taking part in a full practice with the rest of the Edmonton Oilers.

His return to the lineup, however, appears to still be at least a week away, not fully recovered from his broken ankle.

"It feels pretty good," said Pisani. "I might be another week or two weeks before I feel a little more confident and they let me play."

Pisani has been out of the lineup since crashing feet first into the end boards at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in November, breaking his left ankle on the play.

'STRENGTH IT UP'

"There are still certain movements where it hurts here and there," Pisani said. "But I think that's to be expected from now until the end of the season. Right now I'm just trying to strength it up as best I can. It still swells a little bit, but I'm icing it usually every time after I skate."

It's been a tough couple of seasons for Pisani, who missed the first portion of last year suffering from the effects of ulcerative colitis. He had two goals and four assists in 16 games this season before getting hurt.

"It's been tough being out since November," Pisani said. "When you're injured, you always feel that you're not really part of the team, because you're away from them a lot of the time because we don't travel with them.

"It's been a little bit difficult. But now that I'm skating with them, it's a good feeling being back on the ice and being part of the routine."
