ROBERT NILSSON, EDM

Has stepped up the offence (seven points in his last seven games) since returning from a concussion.

ALEXEI KOVALEV, MTL

He was on fire in the first half of the season, but is a whopping minus-9 in his last 11 games.

COMING IN

OILERS (26-23-4) are coming in off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild.

CANADIENS (29-19-6) are coming in off a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of the Calgary Flames.

GAME NOTES

The last meeting between these teams was Nov. 2006, just over two years ago. Of the 18 skaters who dressed for Edmonton that game, only seven remain: Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff, Ethan Moreau, J.F. Jacques, Fernando Pisani, Ladislav Smid and Steve Staios ... The Canadiens held a players-only meeting that lasted over 30 minutes to air out their problems after their eighth defeat in the last 10 games ... Since Georges Laraque has always been a clean player and wouldn't require any policing, Craig MacTavish will likely sit Steve MacIntyre out against the Canadiens.

HURT PARADE

EDMONTON: RW Fernando Pisani (broken ankle).

MONTREAL: F Alex Tanguay (shoulder); F Robert Lang (achilles); F Guillaume Latendresse (shoulder); D Patrice Brisebois (lower body); F Mathieu Dandenault (arm surgery).
