Home run swing returns

The exciting and incredibly dangerous Dwayne Roloson baseball swing is back.

With Edmonton killing a second period power play Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, Roloson scooped the puck in his glove, tossed it up and batted it out of the Oilers zone.

It's a high-risk play that can go embarrassingly wrong, but never seems to.

"Until we dig that out of our net, I'm OK with it," said head coach Craig MacTavish. "Especially with the way we were winning faceoffs (34% against the Flyers).

"We couldn't win one, so we might as well bat it out and chase it."

It's a byproduct of confidence and a confident Roloson says he was trying to set up a shorthanded goal.

"I knew their power play was out for a while and our forwards just got out there," he said. "Shawn (Horcoff) was telling me to hold it, but the puck was in mid-air. At the same time I knew he was fresh and he could get out there (after the batted puck) ... and we might get an offensive break, catching their guys tired."
