The Edmonton Oilers used four goaltenders in yesterday's Joey Moss Cup intra-squad contest.

Mathieu Garon and Dwayne Roloson started for Team Blue and Team White respectively.

Garon allowed one goal on nine shots while Roloson was beaten twice on 15 shots. They were replaced in the second half of the contest by Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers and Devan Dubnyk.

Deslauriers gave up one goal on 12 shots while Dubnyk allowed four goals on 19 shots, including a penalty-shot converted by Viacheslav Trukhno.

Dustin Penner, Robert Nilsson, Jordan Eberle, Marc Pouliot and Sam Gagner added the others for Team Blue in the 6-2 victory. Erik Cole and Bryan Lerg scored for Team White.

Andrew Cogliano left yesterday’s intra-squad game early with tightness in his backside. He’s expected to be OK.

Cut and chase: The Edmonton Oilers wouldn't divulge who will be in the lineup tonight when they host the Vancouver Canucks in the first game of a home-and-home series.

There are currently 51 players on the roster.

Yesterday the team cut 20 players, assigning 14 to their AHL affiliate in Springfield, returning five to their junior teams and releasing defenceman Kalvin Sagert.

Today, the players not taking part in the contest against the Canucks will practise prior to the regular morning skates for each team.

Tomorrow, the Oilers will head to Vancouver for the second half of the series before returning home to host the Florida Panthers for a pair of encounters.

After playing four games in four nights, they’ll have three more exhibition games prior to their season opener Sunday, Oct. 12, against the Colorado Avalanche at Rexall Place.

"We're looking forward to getting going in the preseason," said Gagner. "It's been a long off-season, we haven't played a game in a long time and it'll be good to get back out there."
