It will probably take more than a bone bruise to keep Ethan Moreau out of the lineup.

The Edmonton Oilers left winger has missed the team's last two exhibition games and won't play tonight against the Vancouver Canucks.

Moreau took an Adrian Aucoin shot off the foot in last Saturday's exhibition game in Calgary.

"My goal is to play in the home opener," Moreau said. "I haven't been able to skate yet. The swelling has gone down a lot and the last two days have been really encouraging.

"I think (today) I'll try to put my skate on just to see how it feels and if there needs to be any adjustments on my skate and I'll go from there."

Moreau missed practically the entire 2006-07 season after dislocating his shoulder seven games into the year.

In two preseason games this year he has a goal and an assist. He has not practiced since blocking the shot.

"The first two days I was on crutches and the last two days I've been fine," Moreau said. "I can't walk fast, but I've been able to do a lot of things, I've been able to workout, it's coming along pretty quickly."
