PHOENIX -- Anson Carter, knocked out of his training camp audition with a concussion just 91 seconds into his first game, began skating yesterday.

He's way behind the curve right now, but Edmonton Oilers head coach Craig MacTavish says it's not over for him.

"The minute he's cleared to play he's going in.

"It's a little unfortunate for him, but there's always things you can do to try and buy him some time, get him some games somewhere."

- After X-rays on the Oilers machine were inconclusive, Ethan Moreau went in for clearer pictures yesterday and the foot isn't broken. He just has a severe bone bruise after taking an Adrian Aucoin shot off the foot.

- The Oilers will dress seven first round picks in tonight's game: Raffi Torres, Robert Nilsson, Marc Pouliot, Rob Schremp, Sam Gagner, Ryan O'Marra, and Ladislav Smid.

- The club assigned Adam Huxley (LW) and T.J. Kemp (D) to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.

- QUOTE: "There are a lot of guys who this is their last look, so it's important to have a good showing for yourself and get another one. It's going to be the last look for a lot of the guys playing Tuesday. The same on Wednesday. Then we'll get as close as we can to our roster for the game on Saturday." - Craig MacTavish.
