No timeline for Stoll's return

Jarret Stoll's medical checklist is slowly improving - but he's not ready to return to battle with the Edmonton Oilers.

On the shelf for the last 11 games with concussion symptoms, Stoll has no definite timeline for a re-entry to the lineup.

"This last week has been good. I have been a lot better," he said.

"The headaches have kind of gone away. I haven't really had one in the last probably five days."

However, dizziness continues to be a problem.

On the ice for 25 minutes yesterday before the team's practice, the versatile centre didn't push the pedal too hard.

"I am starting light workouts now," he continued.

"I think the next step is to maybe increase those workouts, increase the intensity.

"As for getting out there and really working myself on the ice that's maybe a week away, maybe a little longer.

"It depends on how it goes."

With Stoll on the shelf, the Oilers' power play has actually been scoring at a higher clip.

Ranked 25th in the NHL at 15.8% entering last night, Edmonton has converted nine of 45 chances (20%) in Stoll's absence.

FINISH LINES: Defenceman Tom Gilbert (post concussion symptoms) didn't practice yesterday.
