BUFFALO -- He's seen both of his linemates go down with concussions.

They're both out for an extended period of time. Yet Raffi Torres perseveres with two rookie linemates.

"Raffi is playing well," said Oilers head coach Craig MacTavish. "I think he's responding to the extra ice he's been given and he's deserving of that.

"Before, he was playing 12-13 minutes, now he's up to 17 minutes a game."

In the absence of Jarret Stoll and Fernando Pisani, Torres has been pencilled in beside Marc-Antoine Pouliot and Patrick Thoresen.

"It's tough to see those guys out, but the two young guys have been playing pretty well lately," said Torres, who had two goals in three games prior to last night. "I'm not too upset about it, it gives me a chance to play with different players. You have to stay positive. It's kind of tough without Pisani and Stoll, but hopefully we can get into a bit of a groove now."

Torres has 12 goals and 16 assists in 58 games this season.
