It's four more years for Steve Staios.

The Edmonton Oilers and Staios have come to terms on a new contract that will keep the hard-nosed defenceman from Hamilton in Oilers silks for four more years and pay him $10.8 million over the term.

Staios, 33, and agent Pat Morris, in negotiations with Oilers' assistant GM Scott Howson since pre-season, agreed to terms on the deal last night and the team is expected to make it official with an announcement Tuesday.

Staios, signed as a free agent by the Oilers in July of 2001, is earning $1.615 million this season. He'll get a big bump to $2.9 million in the first and second years of the new contract, $2.8 million in the third year and will make $2.2 million in the fourth year.
