VANCOUVER -- It seems the Edmonton Oilers' penchant for hideous haberdashery is cause for curiosity in Lotusland.

With the usual gaggle of media at General Motors Place yesterday for the morning skate, Oilers players and coaches faced countless questions about The Jacket - the Saturday Night Fever get-up worn by Petr Sykora, Ryan Smyth and Dwayne Roloson after being judged by teammates to be the best player in the previous game.

Where'd the jacket come from?

"I don't know what you're talking about," Steve Staios said.

Can you comment on your team's fashion sense?

"As you know, there's no explaining some guys' tastes in what they wear to and from the rink," deadpanned coach Craig MacTavish, giving nothing away.

"Most members of the media actually know that first hand."

Did it come from your wardrobe, MacT?

"You guys don't need to know everything," MacTavish said. "I don't ever remember working for the media."

So it went.
