Expect Edmonton Oilers coach Craig MacTavish to make his second round of roster cuts this morning.

With the roster sitting at 46 players going into last night's game against the Phoenix Coyotes, MacTavish said he'll trim as many as eight hopefuls from that number today.

Indications from MacTavish are that after today's reassignments, he'll stand pat through a home-and-home series against Calgary tomorrow and Saturday and a game against Vancouver next Wednesday, then reduce the roster to 31 or 32 players before the Oilers leave for a game against the Coyotes in Phoenix Sept. 28.
