With Shawn Horcoff signed, the Oilers are now turning their attention to Ales Hemsky and Jarret Stoll. Both players have salary arbitration hearings coming up, with Stoll's on July 24th and Hemsky's on July 28th.

"We'll try and get a settlement done," Howson said. "But if it goes to arbitration, it goes to arbitration. Both parties are willing to live with that and whatever the deal is, we'll live with the deal."

The Oilers also have to come to terms with Joffrey Lupul acquired from the Ducks in the Chris Pronger trade. Lupul, however, does not have salary arbitration rights. The Oilers would like to get Stoll and Hemsky signed before they start negotiating with Lupul.

ERIC THE OIL? The Oilers denied reports they were negotiating with Eric Lindros, but assistant GM Scott Howson did admit that they have talked to the big centre.

"We had a discussion with Eric two weeks ago and we haven't done anything about it since,"Howson said.

"His preference, as far as our understanding is, is to stay in Toronto and work out a contract there.

We're basically staying out of it. If it comes to pass that he's not going to sign with the Leafs, then maybe it's something we'll give consideration to."
