VANCOUVER - The Edmonton Oilers have put their best foot forward to keep goalie Dwayne Roloson.

Roloson's Boston-based agent Peter Fish told the Sun today that the Oilers have already extended a long-term contract offer to the club's playoff hero.

Dealt to the Oilers at the NHL trade deadline, Roloson led Edmonton on a march to the Stanley Cup finals.

"He would like to stay in Edmonton. He enjoyed the city and the fans, but he's still open to the idea of shopping himself around on July 1," said Fish.

Fish said he hasn't held any formal talks with Edmonton GM Kevin Lowe since the offer was extended, but that will probably happen during this weekend's draft festivities. If Roloson doesn't sign with the Oilers, then the Toronto Maple Leafs could be a possible suitor.

"We'll see what transpires here. We haven't had any negotiations with the Oilers and that's going to be the next step," said Fish.
