No TV time for rookie Pouliot

Marc-Antoine Pouliot was pumped in the morning about making his NHL debut on HNIC last night after Craig MacTavish indicated he intended to go with the rookie and sit Ethan Moreau to rest his sprained right ankle.

The problem - at the same time Pouliot was doing interviews and talking about calling family and friends in Quebec to make sure they tuned in - was Moreau was telling reporters he intended to play.

Sure enough, when the Oilers filed out of the tunnel at game time, Moreau was in the line-up and Pouliot, recalled from Hamilton March 13, was back in street clothes.

"It feels the same way as the last game," said Moreau, who tweaked his ankle on the road in Minnesota but played in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over Calgary. "I thought I was effective in that last game."

Not so fast, kid.
