Lowe's been one to create deadline excitement

Kevin Lowe has yet to stand pat at the NHL trading deadline since taking over from Glen Sather as the Oilers GM on June 9, 2000.

THE DEADLINE DEALS

MARCH 8, 2006: Traded the Oilers first-round draft pick in 2006 and a conditional third-round choice to the Minnesota Wild for goaltender Dwayne Roloson.

MARCH 9, 2004: Traded goaltender Tommy Salo and a fifth-round pick in 2005 to the Colorado Avalanche for defenceman Tom Gilbert.

MARCH 11, 2003: Dealt forward Anson Carter and defenceman Ales Pisa to the New York Rangers for forward Radek Dvorak and defenceman Cory Cross and sent defenceman Janne Niinimaa and a second-round draft pick in 2003 for forward Brad Isbister and forward Raffi Torres.

MARCH 19, 2002: Traded defenceman Tom Poti and forward Rem Murray to the New York Rangers for forward Mike York and a fourth-round draft choice in 2002 (Ivan Koltsov) and shipped defenceman Sean Brown to the Boston Bruins for blueliner Bobby Allen.

MARCH 14, 2001: Sent forward Dan LaCouture to the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenceman Sven Butenschon.
