To say Edmonton Oilers GM Kevin Lowe isn't done dealing is to state the obvious, and there's at least one big name remaining on his wish list heading into today's 1 p.m. NHL trade deadline.

The Oilers have talked to the Boston Bruins about forward Sergei Samsonov, a source said yesterday, confirming Edmonton's interest in the 27-year-old Russian left winger.

With the Oilers looking to add scoring to their forward lines, Samsonov certainly fits the bill. The five-foot-eight fireplug from Moscow, drafted eighth overall by the Bruins in 1997, has scored 20 or more goals four times in this NHL career.

Samsonov, who has tallied 18-19-37 in 55 games with the Bruins this season, has reportedly attracted interest from several teams, including the Carolina Hurricanes.

NAME-DROPPING: Mark Parrish, traded by the New York Islanders to the Los Angeles Kings yesterday, was one of several forwards the Oilers inquired about ... Geoff Sanderson of the Phoenix Coyotes is also of interest to the Oilers, but indications are there's been no talks on that front ... St. Louis forward Dallas Drake remains at the top of the Oilers wish list in their pursuit of a veteran who can play on the third or fourth line ... Contrary to speculation, the Oilers aren't talking to Phoenix about Tyson Nash.
