The Oilers will be in St. Louis April 9 when the Blues retire the No. 2 jersey of Al MacInnis. It'll be the fourth such ceremony for the Oilers this season.
Paul Coffey's No. 7 was retired here in October. They were at Madison Square Garden to see Mark Messier's linen lifted and the Coyotes retired Thomas Steen's jersey in Phoenix, Jan. 29.
MacInnis will be the fifth St. Louis player to have his number retired. The others are Bob Gassoff, Barclay Plager, Brian Sutter and Bernie Federko.
BLUES HURTIN' TOO: While the Oilers are struggling to the Olympic break without injured Ethan Moreau, Igor Ulanov, Marty Reasoner, Michael Peca and Dick Tarnstrom, the Blues have their own long list of sick and wounded.
St. Louis has been making due without former Oiler Eric Brewer, out for the season after shoulder surgery Jan. 26, Jason Bacashihua (shoulder), Jeff Hogan (clavicle), Bryce Salvador (shoulder) and Jamal Mayers (broken foot). Sanford has been battling back spasms.
