GM KEVIN LOWE

Yes, get a goaltender. He knows.

When Gary Bettman and the NHLPA struck a new deal, Lowe promised the NHL's new era would allow the Oilers to compete for a Stanley Cup again. Nobody's planning a parade route yet, but the Oilers, to this point, have delivered as Lowe said they would.

Lowe put his money where his mouth is, in excess of $10 million to be exact, to get Chris Pronger and Michael Peca.

Lowe will, you can rest assured, address his goaltending if the right deal presents itself. A

COACH CRAIG MACTAVISH

Enough already with the bogus bum rap from couch coaches that MacTavish doesn't know how to develop young, talented players and that he only has eyes for grinders and journeymen.

Ales Hemsky, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Jarret Stoll and Raffi Torres are coming along quite nicely, thank you very much. All have been rewarded for their significant progress under MacTavish's tenure with increased roles.

A second half like the first and MacT will be a candidate for the Jack Adams Trophy as coach of the year. B+
