After giving it a good long rest over the weekend, defenceman Chris Pronger took his sore knee for a test drive yesterday and says he's ready to go.

"It was the first time skating in four days and it felt pretty good," said Pronger.

"It's draining pretty good and the swelling's gone down quite a bit. I'm starting to get a lot better range of motion."

Pronger banged the knee last week in Minnesota and sat out the Calgary game.

If there's such a thing as a good time to hurt yourself, this was it. With only one game in the five days between the Wild and Avalanche tonight, it was the perfect opportunity to get healthy.

"That was the purpose of sitting out the Calgary game," he said. "It's just making sure you take care of it. You don't want to have any lingering issues throughout the season. If you can miss one game and get four days off to be ready for the next game, why not do it."
