It took Jeff Woywitka three organizations and four years after being drafted 27th by Philadelphia in 2001 to get his name in the NHL book, but the native of Vermilion made his debut in The Show Oct. 6 against Detroit.

"It's exciting to come here, even if the team's struggling a bit right now," said Woywitka. "The guys here have been great. I'm getting comfortable and I'm finding my game."

Woywitka, 22, who came to the Oilers from the Flyers in the Mike Comrie trade, didn't get a sniff with Philly or Edmonton, but he's been told by St. Louis management to get a place in town, so he's clearly in the plans of coach Mike Kitchen.

"Just a couple of days ago," smiled Woywitka, who played his seventh NHL game against the Oilers last night. "I've bounced around, but it's been for some pretty big players (Comrie and Pronger).

"I'm looking at it as a boost for me to be able to come in and settle here. I'm looking at this as a real opportunity ... the organization in Edmonton was great to me, but the situation here couldn't be better."
