Goaltender Ty Conklin has become the 10th member of the Edmonton Oilers to sign a contract in Europe.

The 28-year-old stopper from Anchorage, Alaska, has signed with Wolfsburg of the Deutsche Elite League for the balance of the season.

"There's 25 games left," said agent Kurt Overhardt. "He had offers from Finland and Sweden and Austria, but he looked at them all and decided this was the right one for him."

Conklin, who toured Germany this spring when he represented the U.S. at the Deutschland Cup, agreed to terms with the Grizzly Adams - that's the name of the team, just like the TV series from the 1970's - on the weekend and left to join the team yesterday.

Conklin, who went 17-14-4 with a 2.43 goals-against average with the Oilers last season, played just 39 games because he missed 11 games recovering from a broken hand, suffered in a fight against Atlanta Feb. 11.

Conklin joins Marc-Andre Bergeron, Radek Dvorak, Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff, Jussi Markkanen, Ethan Moreau, Alexei Semenov, Fernando Pisani and Mike York, who is with Iserlohn of the DEL, as Oilers playing in Europe.
