After an impressive showing at the Edmonton Oilers rookie camp earlier this month, Rob Schremp has been on a roll in his first two games with the London Knights of the OHL.
Schremp, 18, selected 25th overall in the June Entry Draft, has tallied 2-3-5 and is among the leaders in league scoring going into a game with the Windsor Spitfires tonight.
- Goaltender Devan Dubnyk, the Oilers' first pick in the draft, 14th overall, is off to a less impressive start with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. Dubnyk, 18, is 0-2-0 with a 4.00 goals-against average and a saves percentage of .862.
- Defenceman Roman Tesliuk, the Oilers' third selection, 44th overall, has scored 0-2-2 and has four penalty minutes in his first two games with the Blazers.
- Liam Reddox, taken 112th overall from Peterborough, is scoreless in three games with the OHL Petes and is a minus-4.
- Marc-Antoine Pouliot, 19, the Oilers' first selection, 22nd overall, in 2003, has scored 2-2-4 in five games so far with Rimouski of the QMJHL.
THE DOTTED LINE: The Oilers have signed centre Martin St. Pierre to an AHL contract, meaning he'll report to the Edmonton Road Runners for medicals and fitness testing today and will attend training camp.
St. Pierre, 21, who tallied 45-65-110 with the Guelph Storm of the OHL last season, was a standout at the Oilers rookie camp, but he had enroled at Dalhousie University and had to decide between pursuing his education and turning pro.
AROUND THE RINK: Construction of the Road Runners dressing room at Rexall Place won't be completed until December, so the team will use the visiting dressing room, not the Oilers room, for training camp and the regular season until then.
