An exceptional all-around athlete, Sean Monahan stepped off the golf course late last week after posting another round in the 70s.

"I'm getting better," he said. "I think my best score is like 4-over.

"I'm so inconsistent, though."

Monahan, who gave up lacrosse and baseball to pursue a career on the slippery surface, is so NOT inconsistent when it comes to his hockey game. In fact, the 67's captain is of the most consistent 18-year-olds on the planet. As such, he should be among the first picks at the NHL entry draft Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

"It's an exciting time," said the 6-foot-2, 187-pound centre. "It's kind of to the point now, I've had a lot of time off since the season ended, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'm prepared for whatever happens. It's an opportunity to play in the NHL, hopefully an opportunity to make that team and one day win the Stanley Cup. It's a pretty special time."
