TORONTO - The lowdown on all six Maple Leafs draft picks this past weekend.

Morgan Rielly, D, Moose Jaw (WHL)

5th overall

6-foot-1, 200 pounds

Skinny: The Leafs think he can develop into a cornerstone-type player on the blue line along with Jake Gardiner … Amateur scouting director Dave Morrison watched Rielly in the playoffs and said he didn’t look like a kid who had missed 5 months with a knee injury .. .Rielly’s speed and smarts are his biggest assets, but he is not a physical player … Could be best puck mover among all defencemen drafted this weekend.

Matt Finn, D, Guelph (OHL)

35th overall

6 feet, 192 pounds

Skinny: Toronto native grew up minutes from MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke and had posters of Mats Sundin and Doug Gilmour in his bedroom … Many observers had him going in the first round, and Leafs had him No. 22 on their list … Overcame concerns about his conditioning and rose rapidly in rankings through the season … Gets high marks for his maturity and poise … Logged lots of minutes on Storm blue line.

Dominic Toninato, C, Duluth East (Minnesota high school)

126th overall

Six feet, 165 pounds

Skinny: Ranked 149th in North America by NHL central scouting … Posted 61 points (27 goals and 34 assists) in 25 games … Said he tries to pattern his game after Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews … Definitely a project, but should develop more with Fargo of USHL next season … Has committed to University of Minnesota-Duluth … Two-way centre who, like others, needs to put on some weight.

Connor Brown, RW, Erie (OHL)

156th overall

5-foot-11, 160 pounds

Skinny: Leafs looked past the Etobicoke native’s minus-72 mark (the worst in the Canadian Hockey League) this past season. “It took a beating on a very young Otters team,” Morrison said … Recorded 53 points (25 goals and 28 assists) in 68 games … Has good hands and thinks the game well … Was ranked 110th in North America by NHL central scouting … Expected to pack on a few pounds.

Ryan Rupert, C, London (OHL)

157th overall

5-foot-8, 186 pounds

Skinny: Referred to by Brian Burke as a junkyard dog type of player, and has drawn comparisons to his coach, Dale Hunter … Had 48 points (17 goals and 31 assists) in 63 games … Racked up 120 penalty minutes, and had a five-game suspension for slashing the Soo’s Nick Cousins … Twin brother Matt has been invited to Leafs prospects camp … Lived at Hunter’s house during the season.

Viktor Loov, D, Sodertalje (Sweden)

209th overall

6-foot-1, 187 pounds

Skinny: Leafs European scout Thommie Bergman was in Morrison’s ear all season about Loov, who will turn 20in November ... Had three goals and three assists and 42 penalty minutes in 50 games … The Leafs figure he is in the mould of another Toronto prospect, Marlies defenceman Jesse Blacker … Gets the puck up the ice quick and is a good skater with speed. Compete level attracted him to Bergman.
