Burnaby Express' Kyle Turris is the top-ranked skater on National Hockey League's central scouting list.

We'll find out after 4 p.m. today whether the 17-year-old New Westminster-born centre also becomes the No. 1 draft pick (TSN and TSN.ca).

The NHL's 30 franchises are in Columbus, Ohio for the 2007 Entry Draft. The first round is televised live tonight. The remaining six rounds go at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

Turris has aroused the attention of scouts league-wide because he scored 66 goals and added 55 assists in 53 B.C. Hockey League junior-A games during 2006-2007.

Kamloops Blazers' defenceman Keaton Ellerby (ranked No. 4) and Vancouver-born Everett Silvertips' centre Zach Hamill (9) could also be claimed in the top 10 this afternoon.

Vancouver Giants' Memorial Cup-winning defenceman Jon Blum (17) and right wingers Spencer Machacek (52) and Michael Repik (58) are expected to don NHL jerseys for the first time this weekend. Chilliwack Bruins' Swedish centre Oscar Moller is ranked 20th.

Giants' netminder Tyson Sexsmith was rated eighth among North American goaltenders.
