DETROIT -- Red Wings forward and leading scorer Henrik Zetterberg will miss the final two games of the regular season with a lower body injury.

Zetterberg left during the first period of Wednesday's 3-0 loss to Carolina, limping off the ice after getting hit by Hurricanes defenseman Bryan Allen.

The team said Thursday that Zetterberg will be day-to-day beyond the regular season.

The Red Wings already clinched the Central Division and are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference behind Vancouver and San Jose.

Zetterberg had 24 goals and 56 assists in 80 games for Detroit this season.
