DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings have activated veteran goaltender Chris Osgood from injured reserve.

Osgood has been sidelined since undergoing surgery for a sports hernia on January 11.

The 38-year-old compiled a 5-3-2 record with a 2.77 goals-against average and .903 save percentage prior to the injury.

Osgood became the 10th goalie in NHL history to record 400 wins on December 27 at Colorado.

In a corresponding move, the Red Wings assigned netminder Joey MacDonald to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
