Philadelpia Flyers tough guy Zac Rinaldo certainly made the most of his ice time Saturday against the Dallas Stars.
The 23-year-old Hamilton native racked up 27 penalty minutes in four seconds. Yes, you read that right: Four seconds.
Immediately after hopping off the bench for his first shift, Rinaldo tried to start a scrap with Antione Roussel, but the Stars pest declined.
Undeterred, Rinaldo grabbed Roussel’s collar and took a swing at him. The Frenchman ducked, causing both men to fall to the ice. Rinaldo got in one more shot at Roussel before he was pulled away.
The resulting penalties assessed to Rinaldo were as follows: an instigating minor, fighting major, 10-minute misconduct and 10-minute game misconduct.
Roussel, apart from the free Rinaldo shot, got away clean and the Stars had a seven-minute power play.
